The Children's Book Council taps our third installment as part of their 2026 Summer of Celebration! We are thrilled to be part of the CBC’s 2026 Summer Showcase: These are the People in My Neighborhood. This awesome collection celebrates friendship, teamwork and kindness. Our title will be featured on the CBC website from June 2026 through September 2026!

At age 8, Alexandra "Alex" Scott passed away from neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. Every year more than 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer. When she was 4, Alex started her cancer fundraiser and raised more than $2,000 dollars. At her death in 2004, Alex raised 1 million dollars and inspired a legacy of hope and cures for childhood cancer.
Despite lack of funding, pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease for children and young adults under 20. The ALSF delivers exceptional results in everything they do, ensuring your satisfaction at every new step towards a cure to childhood cancer.
Since Alex poured her fist glass of lemonade, the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) has funded more than 1,500 research projects at 150 institutions in the U.S. and Canada.
With the help of all supporters, the ALSF is guiding the world toward a future without childhood cancer. So please support Alex and grab that cup of lemonade by joining them in finding cures for childhood cancer.
